The federal cabinet that was established by the Pakistan people’s party (PPP-P) with the help of coalition partners like MQM, JUI-f , ANP has resigned today while Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani commended the efforts of his ministers. PM is going to bring likely a smaller version of the ministers to meet the economic downturns of the country.

Prime Minister has said on the eve of the cabinet meeting that the performance of the cabinet members was fabulous since its day first to till today. Federal cabinet performed its duties in right way for strengthening the country that’s why 77% decisions were implemented and more than 175 are also being implemented. Prime minister Gilani had established this cabinet on 25th march 2008 and it was in fix on 9th November 2008 when the PML-N’s ministers were quit the cabinet because of having reservations and difference with PPP leadership on judges reinstatement issue then PPP made the federal cabinet with the help of MQM, JUI-f , ANP and etc. This cabinet comprised 56 federal, 18 state ministers and many advisors as well. It was huge burden on the fragile economy and national exchequers.

Meanwhile, the all these ministers presented their resignations to the prime minister who was presiding the 75th session of the cabinet in which he paid huge homage to the minister’s performance.

He also averred that cabinet has strived sincere efforts to improve the economic condition of the country and set various examples in terms of taking political decisions.

“Credit goes to this cabinet for making serious efforts to rehabilitate the 1973 constitution according to its real letter and spirit.” PM said.

It is expected that cabinet comprises twelve to fifteen ministers would be established with in the next 24 hours with this first phase would be accomplished while more than 35 to 40 ministers would be the part of this cabinet.

It is also expected that many new faces would be seen in this coming set up and various ministers would not enjoy their previous portfolios while many ministries would be put into the other ministries.

Opposition parties and economist were also demanding that government should sut in the expenditures.

However, no doubt right now it’s true that Pakistan’s economy had not further capacity to entertain this cabinet because of it large size and at least more than 97 bleu eyed of the President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani were enjoying the perks and privileges just like ministers. It is also expected that with the establishment of the small cabinet that would be establish according to the 18th amendments and country wound be stepped forward. The small version of the cabinet members may bring some positive changes in the life styles of the ruling elitists.
